In an interview given exclusively to the Sports Gazette, Cio Ferreira (24 years old) says he immediately accepted to come to Romania, even if he knew nothing about our country. The project from FC Argeș was pleased and left the Republic of Moldova behind, transferring to our superlig.

Caio Ferreira. The Brazilian “Pantera”, coming from the Republic of Moldova, begins to show its class. It was the main fire mouth of Pitesti in September, with solid and appreciated developments, including MVP in the match with Hermannstadt. He scored both against UTA Arad and the team from Sibiu.

VIDEO. Caio Ferreira: “I didn't know anything about Romania! Guilherme told me only good things”

– Caio, congratulations, you are the player of September! How was this period for you?
– I am very happy for winning this individual prize, but I think it is the result of a group that works together. The joy of winning this prize is huge, but I want to dedicate it to all my teammates, because without them it would not have been possible!

-How did you accommodate FC Argeș and what convinced you to come to Romania?
– I trusted the project when my agent talked to me. I didn't think about it, because there was another Brazilian here. He told me extraordinary things about the team. I did not hesitate, I wanted to come and join the team to help the club.

– What did you know about Romania and FC Argeș before you sign here?
– To be very honest, I didn't know anything. I asked Guilherme to give me information, and he only told me good things here. I had one more reason to come.

“I discovered talent by playing on the streets near my house”

– Did your childhood in Brazil be poorer, with weights?
“Yes, for sure.” My childhood was very difficult. I had to go over many things when I was very young, I lost my mother at an early age. But that was an extra motivation for me.

– There everyone wants to become a footballer, when did you realize that you will play professionals?
– I noticed as a child, playing on the streets near my house. I already had a lot of talent, and then it grew more and more.

– In Romania there were Brazilians who shone, Eric de Oliveira, Wesley. Do you step on the footsteps?
– Certainly, Brazil is a great reference to players and I want to continue to evolve.

– What are your main qualities? What do the world need to know about you?
– I think my individual dribbling is very good, one by one, as well as the shot in the offensive area.

“Our mission here is to keep FC Argeș in the top”

– The inhabitants of Niteroi painted you on a huge building. How much such gestures motivate you?
– This is a huge motivation, no doubt. I feel very happy and honored!

Thousands of kilometers away, in Niteroi, a small city that the Brazilians call Cidade Sorriso, the walls tell a story written in white and purple. If the Romanians conquered him through his performances and by football played with a smile on his lips, a natural attitude for someone from the city of smiles, the Brazilians from Niteroi won with his story. Caio has become a symbol and an inspiration for the local community. Thanks to him, on Argeș's match days, the streets of his native neighborhood dress in white and purple
