US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Tuesday that President Donald Trump has shown “extraordinary patience” in the hope of diplomatic progress between Russia and Ukraine.

Donald Trump has recently said that Ukraine is capable of returning to initial borders, with EU and NATO support. He also said that NATO countries should break the Russian aircraft if they enter the airline of the Atlantic Alliance. Previously, the US president had repeatedly reported that Kiev could have to make concessions to put an end to the war. However, the recent statements of the US President suggest that his attitude towards Russia has changed, and Marco Rubio explains why this happened.

It is about Russia's delay in the diplomatic process, a process in which Trump has been involved since taking over his mandate at the White House. Marco Rubio warned Moscow with possible economic sanctions and stressed that Washington could continue to provide Kiev weapons.

“The president is a very patient man. He is very dedicated to peace, but his patience is not infinite,” Rubio said “as he repeatedly said, has the opportunity and options to impose additional economic costs to the Russian federation, if necessary, to end this situation,” he continued.
