New disclosures about the emails of the Duchess of York to Jeffrey Epstein shakes the British monarchy. What measures will King Charles take

At the Buckingham Palace, the tension increases after the discussions about the emails sent by the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, to Jeffrey Epstein. King Charles takes into account the “last sanction”, namely to limit or even prohibit the presence of the York family at private events.

King Charles is considering restricting or banning the York family access to the private events of the Royal Family, seeing this measure as “the last sanction”, in the context of “real fear” that new scandals can occur that related to Jeffrey Epstein.
Although the Buckingham Palace did not comment publicly on Saturday, September 20, there was an obvious frustration in the royal circles after the reappearance of the UK press of enthusiastic emails sent by Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York and the former wife of King Charles, to Jeffrey Epstein, to his minor abuse.
In correspondence, the Duchess apologizes for public distance from “Her supreme friend”, explaining that the gesture was motivated by the need to protect his career as a child book author. The e-mail shows that, in 2011, just a few weeks after he had stated in the press that he broke the ties with Epstein, Sarah transmitted “humble excuses”.
The official position of the Duchess
A Duchess spokesman said Sunday, September 21, that the 2011 message was sent to counteract an aggressive court threat for defamation from Jeffrey Epstein.
As a former wife of Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles, a member of the royal family who no longer performs official duties, the Duchess is not under the direct authority of the king regarding her public or private actions. However, the new disclosures reactivated the discussions on the approach of the York family to the Royal House of Great Britain.
Sara Ferguson, persona non grata
As long as Prince Philip, the consortium of Queen Elizabeth's Queen, was alive, the Duchess of York, Sarah, was “persona non grata” for the Royal House, but the queen allowed the occasional presence at the Balmoral or Sandringham, after being diagnosed with cancer, for consideration for Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, his two children, his two children, his son, his son Andrew.
King Charles also expressed a leniency after the Duchess was diagnosed with cancer, allowing her to participate in important family events organized in Norfolk and Easter at Windsor Castle. However, Daily Mail quotes sources that state that the king's goodness has come to an end and that this tolerance could be reconsidered.
While at the Bucharest Palace the tension increases, a friend of the Duchess of York was excused and claims that at that time she was advised to send a “soothing” to Jeffrey Epstein, who threatened her with a slander process, after an interview in which Sarah Ferguson had distanced himself, condemning the pedophilia.
“Epstein aggressively threatened to sue. He was an ugly, unpleasant and very threatening man. She acted at the advice that was given to her [în scris în
e-mailuri] To try to determine him to give up threat, which he did later. Sarah stays at what she said many years ago. He deeply regrets any association with him and hates pedophilia. He worked for many years to support the vulnerable young people ”, he said.
King Charles is considering forbid the presence of York “couple” at family events
King Charles's younger brother, Andrew, Duke of York, has already lost all public duties and patronage and no longer appears at official events. However, in the absence of a conviction and in the context in which he constantly denied any illegal deed, the royal family could not ban the presence at strictly private meetings.
Thus, in recent years, Andrew and his ex -wife, Ferguson, participated in the Christmas walk in Sandringham and appeared in Easter in Windsor, and recently they were seen together at the funeral of the Duchess of Kent, at Westminster, which has aroused public reactions.
According to sources quoted by the Daily Mail, the King would have exhausted “all the available ways” to isolate his brother: he interrupted any private financing, withdrew the protection and tried to convince him to leave Royal Lodge, the 30-room Windsor residence, giving them Frogmore Cottage.
The purpose would be to reduce the financial pressure on Andrew, diminishing the temptation to get involved in “dangerous business or relationships”, but Andrew refused, invoking an “iron” lease and the ability to manage his financial obligations.
Threatening possible new disclosures
In the week that ended, the information in the UK appeared that American investigators could access a “cache” that would allow them to see e-mail written by Duke Andrew, potentially more “explosive” than those of the Duchess.
In this context, some close ones believe that the King has no more option than looking for ways to prevent his brother from attending private events or, at least, limit his appearances and visibility.
Compromising emails
A bomb e-mail obtained by The Mail on Sunday revealed that the Duchess of York lied when, after the first disclosures about her proximity to the controversial billionaire, he promised to break the connections with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Just a few weeks after a public renegade in an interview, Sarah Ferguson wrote to Jeffrey Epstein a private message in which he called him “a friend of hope, generous and supreme” and ended with the following phrases: “Sometimes the heart speaks better than words. You have my heart. With much love, dear Jeffrey.”
In the same e-mail of April 26, 2011, the former sister-in-law of King Charles apologized that the billionaire who had already been convicted of Sal, trying to assure him that he never described as a pedophile. She told her that she was asked to give the interview to protect her “career of children's book author and philanthropist”.
“You have always been a hopeless, generous and extraordinary friend for me and my family. As you know, I did not say, at all, the word with” P ” [pedofil] About you, but I understand that it was reported that I did it. However, I apologize today because I did not answer your e-mail and did not contact you when the tabloids wrote so horrible things ”,
she apologized.
In the interview of March 7, 2011 for the London Evening Standard, referred to in the message and promised to interrupt any connection with Epstein, the Duchess had publicly asked for “sincere apologies” for accepting 15,000 pounds from Jeffrey Epstein, saying she made “a huge trial error”. In December 2010, Jeffrey Epstein had paid 15,000 pounds for salary debts and other invoices of a former assistant of Sarah, an intermediate transaction by Prince Andrew and revealed by the press still March 2011.
“Personally, in my name, I regret deeply that Jeffrey Epstein has been involved in my life. I hate pedophilia and any form of sexual abuse of children … whenever I can, I will return the money and I will never have to deal with Jeffrey Epstein,” Sarah Ferguson said in the interview, for two weeks later to apologize from the “supreme friend” Epstein.
The correspondence between the billionaire and the Duchess dates after the release of Epstein from the Florida prison (July 2009), where he atoned 13 months of an 18-month sentence for sex with minor persons.
It is believed that Sarah Ferguson met Jeffrey Epstein for the first time in the 1990s, being presented by American business woman Lynn Forester by Rothschild, the widow of Banking Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, who was once one of the richest people in the UK.
In a testimony published last month, Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's partner sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexual trafficking, described the Duchess as a “friend-friend” who wanted Epstein.
“It [ducesa de York] He had a weakness for him … and I thought Sarah was trying to seduce Jeffrey ”, she said, according to Dailymail.
Charitable activity
Known for the series “Budgie the Helicopter”, “Little Red” and “Helping Hand”, Sarah Ferguson has published over 50 books for children and young people, and in November 2025 he will publish “Kindness Along the Way”, the second book from the illustrated series “Flora & Fen”.
The Duchess runs Sarah's Trust, an organization she says has supported 1.4 million children, and launched Youth Impact Council.
Also, together with his daughters, Princes Beatrice and Eugenie, is an honorary patron of Teenage Cancer Trust.
