President Donald Trump has recently warned that “bad things” will happen if Afghanistan does not return control over the Bagram air base.

On Sunday, Kabul urged the US not to “threaten” the territorial integrity of Afghanistan, after President Donald Trump warned that “bad things” will happen if the interim Taliban administration would not give up the Pentagon's control Bagram.

“In all bilateral negotiations, the United States constantly communicated that, for Islamic Emirate, the territorial independence and integrity of Afghanistan are of the highest importance,” wrote Hamullah Fitrat, the deputy spokesman of the interim administration, on the website of the American socializing company X.

He said that, in accordance with the 2020 Doha agreement, the US promised that “they will not use and forcefully threaten the territorial integrity or the political independence of Afghanistan nor will they mix in his internal affairs.”

According to the 2020 agreement between Taliban and Trump's first administration, all foreign forces left Afghanistan until 2021, after which the Taliban formed an interim administration, which now runs the country affected by the war.

Fitrat urged the American side to “remain faithful to his commitments (from Doha)”, asking Washington to adopt a policy of “realism and rationality”, instead of “repeating the past approaches.”

Separately, Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, the head of the General Staff of the Afghan armed forces, said on Sunday that “some” want to recover the bat through “political interaction”, according to Tolo News.

Fitrat responded, saying: “To give up even one centimeter of our land is excluded and impossible.”

“Based on Allah Almighty, we are not afraid of anyone, no oppressor or battle, and this we have proved through the 20 years of fighting the United States and its allies,” he added.

The remarks made by Kabul came after Trump issued a warning on his social media social network on Saturday, writing: “If Afghanistan does not return the Bagram air base to the United States, bad things will happen!”
