Nine athletes represented Romania at the Tokyo World Championships (September 13-21). Alin Firfirică (29 years old) did not take the last act in the disc's throwing test, succeeding at the best attempt 60.78 m. “Tricolors” were not present in any final at this edition of the competition.

UPDATE. After managing to qualify in the 400-meter sample semifinals at the Tokyo World Athletics Championships, Andrea Miklos competed on Tuesday, September 16, in the third semi-final series. The Romanian managed to overcome his seasonal record, 50.90 seconds, but finished the series in 6th place and, in general, ranked 18th.

UPDATE. Diana Ana Maria Ion (12th place in the world) and Elena Andreea Taloș (15th world) represented on Tuesday, September 16, Romania in the triplusalt test at the World Athletics Championships. None of the 2 athletes in our country have succeeded in qualifying in the final.

Diana Ion jumped 13.64 meters with the first jump, missed the second and jumped 13.42 meters with the last jumpending on the 26th place in the standings.

UPDATE 14:00. On Sunday, in the evening session, Andrea Miklos obtained the qualification in the semifinals of the 400 m sample. The Romanian managed his best time this season, ending the race in 50.96, in the third position in his series. It was overcome by Salwa Eid Naser (49.13) and Stacey Ann Williams (49.59). The Romanian has qualified with the 21st time. The three semifinals take place on Tuesday, from 3:07 pm.

Mihai Dringo competed in the 400 m men, where he managed a time of 45.21, which positioned on the 31st place, so he stopped in the series.

UPDATE. The third representative of Romania who entered the competition at the Tokyo World Championships was Bianca Ghelber, in the hammer throw. The Romanian evolved on Sunday morning, in group B qualification, and had the best performance of 69.61 m.

The final qualification scale was 74.00 m. The European champion of 2022 thus ranked 17th, only the first 12 advanced in the final. The first quality performance was successful by Camryn Rogers, with 77.52 m.

The best result of the qualifications was obtained by Tom Walsh (New Zealand) with 21.74 m, followed by Americans Adrian Piperi (21.47 m) and Ryan Crouser (21.37 m). The qualification scale in the final was 21.35 m.
