US Warns Russia of Potential Terrorist Attack in Moscow

The Federal Security Service (FSB) stated on Saturday that it had received warnings from the United States regarding a potential terrorist attack in Moscow, according to reports from AFP and Reuters.
“We received information from our American partners concerning plans for a terrorist attack in Moscow. We are taking appropriate measures,” the FSB announced to state media.
In a separate statement, the US Embassy in Moscow issued an urgent security alert, warning of a possible “mass casualty event” in the Russian capital, as reported by The Moscow Times.
According to the embassy, there is credible information regarding a potential event with multiple victims today, October 31, at the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve in Moscow. The US diplomatic mission indicated that “the US government is coordinating with relevant Russian authorities regarding a response.”
The embassy urged individuals to avoid the area and take measures to ensure their safety.
Previously, in 2024, the US had alerted Russia about an imminent terrorist threat ahead of the March 22 attack at Crocus City Hall, which resulted in 145 deaths and hundreds of injuries.
Following the attack, Sergei Naryshkin, head of Russian intelligence, described the prior information received from the US as “too general.” He stated, “The Federal Security Service received some information from American intelligence that, unfortunately, such an event was possible. However, as our Russian colleagues said, the information was too general and did not allow us to fully identify those responsible for this terrible crime.”
