Advisor Warns: Ukraine May Seek Peace If US Backs Putin

In a recent statement, a senior advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Oleksiy Lytvyn, warned that if the United States were to support Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukraine would have no choice but to abandon its escalation efforts and pursue peace. This comment was highlighted in an article by The Atlantic.

Lytvyn further emphasized that this does not reflect President Zelensky’s stance, asserting, “This does not resemble the mood of the president.” He clarified that Ukraine is not escalating tensions but is rather responding to Russian attacks. In specific examples, he noted that Ukraine’s counterstrikes on energy facilities have been in retaliation for Russia’s aggression against Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
