Rapid Wins Dramatic Match Against U Cluj 4-3: Player Reactions

Rapid București secured a thrilling 4-3 victory against Universitatea Cluj, with players reflecting on the intense match afterward.
Olimpiu Moruțan, who provided three key assists, expressed satisfaction with his offensive contribution but acknowledged that Rapid could have settled the match earlier. Filip Stojilkovic, who scored twice, pointed out the team’s response after conceding the first goal. Meanwhile, Răzvan Onea, who netted the winning goal in the 88th minute, attributed the success to their pragmatism, positive aggression, and the mindset instilled by coach Daniel Pancu.
Olimpiu Moruțan: “We Pushed Ourselves Until the End”
“I am happy we won. We pushed ourselves until the end to secure the three points, and for that, I am pleased. We could have made the game easier, winning 3-1 or 4-1, but in the second half, they came at us and applied a lot of pressure,” Moruțan remarked after the match.
“U Cluj is a team fighting for the playoffs, and I believe they will be there again this year. I don’t remember if I’ve ever had three assists in one match, but I’m glad I did it tonight and helped my team,” he added.
Răzvan Onea: “The Coach Brought the Right Mindset”
“It’s a great joy. I’m glad I helped my team win those three points. We were leading and had the three points in our hands, but the joy at the end is even greater. Given our desire, fight, and the right mindset we showed, I consider it a well-deserved result for us,” Onea stated.
“We were very pragmatic, taking advantage of the chances we had. Considering the score, it was normal for them to attack and leave spaces in defense, which we capitalized on well. The coach came in with a very good mentality. We take things step by step, focusing on the next match, aiming for the playoffs, and then we’ll see what happens,” he continued.
“When we conceded the first goal, we didn’t lose our heads; we stayed compact, got back into the game well, and believed in what we could do. I feel great for having scored and for securing the three points.” – Filip Stojilkovic, Rapid Forward
