Diogo Pinto Discusses Life in Bucharest and Family Adaptation

Diogo Pinto, a 27-year-old offensive midfielder for Dinamo București, has shared his experiences from his initial months in Romania, focusing on how his wife, Marta, has adapted to their new life in the capital.

Pinto joined Dinamo at the end of the transfer window, having spent the previous three years with Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenia. One of the most surprising aspects of living in Bucharest for him has been the strong sense of safety he feels in the city.

Diogo Pinto’s Surprising Discovery in Bucharest

The midfielder emphasized how important this feeling of safety is for his family, especially for Marta, who has had to adjust to a new country and culture. “I’ve been here for a month now, but I haven’t had much time to explore. I’ve been to the center and around my neighborhood, and I really like it because it’s so safe. I didn’t expect that. It’s very, very safe,” Pinto mentioned.

He further explained, “Sometimes I tell my wife, Marta, to walk to the mall. Imagine that in some countries, it’s hard to send a woman out alone, but I feel this place is amazing. I can tell her to go, and she feels safe doing so.”

Pinto’s Admiration for His Wife

Pinto acknowledged that transitioning to a new country and culture is not easy for his wife. However, he expressed his gratitude, stating, “I’m lucky to be married to Marta, a very calm and loving woman! She understands the challenges that come with being a footballer, which makes things easier for me.”

The Portuguese player joined Dinamo after winning a title with Olimpija Ljubljana and has a rich football background, having started his youth career at Sporting and Benfica, and played for clubs like Ascoli, Potenza, Vilafranquense, Estrela Amadora, Casa Pia, and Olimpija Ljubljana during his senior career.
