Ovidiu Burcă Prepares for Clash with Dinamo: Their Key Strengths

Ovidiu Burcă, the head coach of Sepsi, held a press conference on the eve of their match against Dinamo, scheduled for Friday, October 9, at 21:00 in Sfântu Gheorghe as part of the 11th round of the Superliga.
For Burcă, the upcoming match carries significant weight. He previously managed Dinamo from July 2022 to November 2023, successfully leading them back to the Superliga at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season. He departed in the fall of 2023 after the team’s performance in the top tier fell short of expectations.
Now facing Dinamo as an opponent, Burcă notes that the current team possesses a key advantage over many rivals in the league.

In his remarks, Burcă emphasized the stability and continuity of Dinamo’s project. He explained that the club has consistently progressed in recent years, a factor that is evident in their gameplay and overall organization.
“Dinamo has an advantage by not competing in European cups. Compared to other teams, they maintain a continuity of ideas, which is vital. Year after year, they have made significant strides, and this year, they are undoubtedly in the title race.
The Dinamo club has been rebuilt on solid pillars and values that were missing over the past decade. The fruits of the labor, which I was a part of, are visible. Dinamo, as envisioned by those of us who joined during a deep crisis, has reached the place we envisioned for it.
It is now well-structured, possesses a clear identity in branding, and, more importantly, a sporting identity. Dinamo has established principles both in gameplay and governance,” declared Ovidiu Burcă during the press conference.
Burcă also analyzed Dinamo’s current playing style, believing that Sepsi will need an almost perfect game to secure points.
“We will face a truly good team. They have a very effective playing model, with many players involved in finishing. They excel in both positional play and transitions. All their forwards score. To earn points or even a draw against Dinamo, you must play a very complete game.
I can never say we go in as the underdogs. You must approach every match with your own strengths, tailored to your style of play while considering the opponent. Each match should be approached with the intent to win.
Dinamo boasts very valuable players. If given time and space, any of their forwards can make a difference. They display more verticality; the attacking duo of Karamoko and Zandbergen combines size and mobility. They are powerful yet technical strikers. Cîrjan and Armstrong are also in good form.”
“Opruț is already a solid player and a leader for the team. What I particularly like is how well David Irimia is performing; he’s a young player we promoted a few years ago in Liga 2. Campos has brought more structure and efficiency, showcasing a very different style compared to Kopic, as well as other players. There’s ongoing debate about who is better, Kopic or Campos. I believe they represent two completely different styles. Coaches should be judged by the goals they’ve achieved. With Campos, it may be too early for assessments, but he is meeting the club’s objectives. Kopic accomplished the club’s goals. This is the most important aspect for any coach—achieving the objectives set by the club.” – Ovidiu Burcă, head coach of Sepsi
Burcă Promoted Dinamo in 2023
Ovidiu Burcă took charge of Dinamo in the summer of 2022 amid a challenging period for the club, following their relegation to Liga 2. By the end of the 2022-2023 season, he managed to bring the team back to the Superliga after a promotion playoff against FC Argeș. However, after a series of unconvincing results in the top tier, he parted ways with the club in November 2023.
