Protests Erupt in Moscow as Police Detain Dozens During Rally

A protest took place near the monument at Selyanskaya Zastava in Moscow, marking the anniversary of the White House massacre, and was officially sanctioned by the authorities.
According to reports, approximately 2,000 individuals attended the rally.
Demonstrators chanted various slogans including “Power to the people, peace to the world,” “We want freedom,” “Down with Roskomnadzor,” “No to political repression,” “Freedom for political prisoners,” and “Down with the party of swindlers and thieves.”
As noted by Astra, the police began detaining participants sharply after the chant “Down with the Tsar!” was heard.
Witnesses reported two waves of arrests, with a total of 26 CPRF members, about 30 members of “Yabloko,” and several other activists detained.
Eyewitnesses described the scene, saying, “We see a person lying there, surrounded by others. And law enforcement officers are kicking them with their feet. In the end, they yanked the person away. A woman was grabbed by her hair, she screamed. It was horrifying, just like in ’93.”
The CPRF announced that they are working on securing the release of the detainees and providing them with necessary assistance. Yabloko stated that they do not have information regarding their members’ involvement in the protest.
