US Extends Sanctions Exemption for Serbian Oil Company NIS Until 2026

The US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced on Wednesday that it has extended the sanctions exemption for Serbian oil company Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) until October 30, 2026. The company, which is primarily owned by Russian interests, operates the only refinery in Serbia. This decision was communicated by Serbia’s Energy Minister, Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic.
