During a session at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), a plea was made for the European Commissioner to visit Oleshky instead of Strasbourg. The urgent message emphasized the dire situation in Oleshky, highlighting the hunger, chaos, and fear faced by the residents. “I urge you to help the people in Oleshky! There is hunger, hell, and fear. Please help!” was the passionate appeal made by Gontcharenko to European leaders regarding the crisis in the region.
