Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov has stated that he expects negotiations facilitated by the United States to resume shortly after the upcoming parliamentary elections in Russia and a few weeks prior to the U.S. midterm elections.
However, Budanov believes that there will be no conditions for a ceasefire agreement until next spring. He emphasized, “Negotiations will eventually lead to something. You cannot fight for a lifetime,” highlighting the necessity of dialogue in conflict resolution.

- On June 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky published an open letter addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, suggesting a meeting on neutral ground with international security guarantees to end the war.
