“So the passion came from family?” “Yes, indeed.”

“What was your first impression when you entered a fencing hall?” “I was fascinated by everything related to the sword; the movements captivated me, and I picked them up quickly. From the very first moment I encountered this sport, I felt a connection.”

“Did you try any other sports?” “No, this was my first encounter with sports, fencing. Like I said, it’s like first love for me.”

“What do you think of David Popovici’s achievements?” “Incredible! Not only for his outstanding results but also for being an educated, humble person with a bright future ahead.”

“Which medal holds the most value for you?” “The bronze from Rio de Janeiro is the most significant for me. It was a challenging competition, both due to the strong opponents and the tough conditions, considering the high heat and humidity in Rio, which made concentration difficult.”

“Did you think you could reach the podium before the competition?” “Yes. I always strive to compete on equal footing with my opponents, believing no one is better than me. Anything can happen; I could win or lose, it greatly depends on me.”

“What did you feel when you stood on the podium?” “An inner joy that my hard work had paid off, and finally being able to represent my country on such a significant stage was overwhelming.”

“Are you ready for the transition to seniors?” “I can’t say I’m fully prepared yet as I’m still quite young and have much to learn. However, I believe I could adapt quickly and handle the challenge.”

“How do you envision your future in fencing?” “I always think that with hard work, discipline, and a clear mind, one can accomplish a lot in life, not just in fencing. I hope for a chance at qualifying for the Olympics through perseverance.”

“Are you already thinking about an Olympic medal?” “Yes, I’ve dreamed of that medal since I was very young. I hope to achieve good results with my team at the upcoming European and World Championships and maybe one day, earn an Olympic medal with the team would be a dream come true.”

“Imagine it’s your last day as an athlete, the day you retire. What headline would you like to see about you in Gazeta Sporturilor?” “I think it would read: ‘The athlete who turned passion into performance.’”
