Shooting Incident at Aarau Rave Festival Near Zurich Leaves Multiple Injured

Several people sustained injuries during a shooting incident at a rave festival in Aarau, located near Zurich, late Saturday into early Sunday, according to the cantonal police and reports from France Presse.
Police reported on X, stating, “Aarau: Gunfire during the night at an event in Schachen. Multiple victims. Significant police intervention ongoing. Please keep a distance from the area,” though further details were not immediately available.
Local media suggest that the ongoing police operation indicates that suspects may still be at large.
The Swiss newspaper Blick noted on its website that the shooting occurred before 3:00 AM (4:00 AM in Romania) during the “Aarauer Rave,” an annual techno music festival that drew about 3,500 attendees at the Aarau racetrack between 3:00 PM Saturday and 2:00 AM Sunday.
According to police spokesperson Vanessa Rumpold, the incident took place at the racetrack. “We can confirm that multiple shots were fired amidst a large crowd,” she stated.
A witness described hearing “bursts of gunfire,” and a video clip circulating on social media, though unverified, captures numerous gunshots.
