In a tightly contested match, Dinamo Bucharest settled for a 1-1 draw against newly promoted Corvinul Hunedoara in the seventh round of the Superliga. Coach Nuno Campos, reflecting on the match, expressed his dissatisfaction with the outcome, believing his team deserved a better result based on their performance.
Despite the draw, Dinamo remains at the top of the standings with 14 points. Campos acknowledged that the team started slowly but felt that they controlled the match after the first 15 minutes, creating enough opportunities to secure a win.
Campos’ Reaction Post-Match
“We didn’t start well in the first 15 minutes; we were a bit sluggish. However, I believe we played a good game and deserved a different outcome,” Campos stated during the “Digi Sport Special” program after the match.
He added, “It’s definitely harder to play from a 0-1 position as the opposing team sat back. I don’t think the result reflects our performance.”
Campos also discussed the adjustments made during halftime after Corvinul adopted a defensive strategy. “In the second half, the opponent defended so deeply that we had to change our approach, which I communicated to the players during halftime. I believe our supporters enjoyed the match; we aimed for more, but in the end, we took a point and had chances to score a second goal,” he explained.
The coach noted that the players were disappointed in the locker room following the draw but expressed confidence in their resilience. “The players are upset, but they are strong enough to move on and aim for victory in the next match. Some players have just recently arrived, and we need more time to reach our goals and foster competition for positions. We are playing well right now, and I am convinced we will reach another level in the future,” Campos commented.
“The opponent hadn’t lost and had the best defense; we did enough to win this game,” he concluded.
“I focus solely on my players. I was informed that the opposing goalkeeper is a Dinamo player, but my attention is on my players on the field as I seek solutions to achieve victory,” Nuno Campos remarked about Corvinul’s goalkeeper Codruț Sandu, who is on loan from Dinamo.
