CIA Chief Proposes Summit with Trump, Zelensky, and Putin to End War

During a recent visit to Moscow, CIA Director John Ratcliffe proposed a summit featuring former President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and Russian President Vladimir Putin as a potential pathway to end the ongoing war, according to Axios. This marked the first occasion where Ratcliffe took part in diplomatic efforts aimed at breaking the deadlock in Ukraine-Russia relations.
Sources indicate that Ratcliffe’s visit was partly focused on assessing whether leaders of Russian intelligence agencies could aid in persuading Putin to resume negotiations mediated by the United States. Ratcliffe concluded that Alexander Bortnikov, head of Russia’s FSB, is a constructive player who might be able to assist in restoring diplomatic initiatives.
