The Winter Olympics reacted after Lindsey Vonn's terrible injury

The organizers of the Winter Olympic Games sent a message of support to American skier Lindsey Vonn (USA, 41 years old) after serious injury suffered during the competition.

Just seconds after the start of the descent, he mislanded and fell. She lay in pain on the slope surrounded by doctors and organizers, unable to get up, she was airlifted from the slope to the hospital.

At the last Olympics of her career, the American athlete tore ligaments in her knee just nine days before. Despite advice to drop out, she decided to compete and no one could persuade her to change her mind.

Von started 13th in the downhill, but her run only lasted moments as she fell. One of the curves on the extremely difficult slope failed her, and on landing she lost control. She was evacuated from the slope by helicopter and transported to the hospital.

At 41 years old, Vonn is one of the most titled female skiers in history. In addition to the 2010 Olympic downhill title, Lindsey Vonn has two other Olympic medals: a bronze, also in Vancouver, in the giant slalom, and another in the downhill in 2018.

This season, Vonn had two World Cup wins for a total of 84, as well as 5 other podium finishes.
