Crawford gifts a puppy named Freya to Zelensky, honoring Ukrainian anti-ballistic systems
During his visit to Kyiv, legendary American boxer Terence Crawford presented President Volodymyr Zelensky with a puppy named Freya, symbolizing support for Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict with Russia. Zelensky noted that Crawford has been a steadfast supporter of Ukraine and its people since the war began.
The boxer’s translator emphasized Crawford’s deep respect for Zelensky as a fighter, to which the President responded that Ukraine recognizes Crawford and his numerous achievements.
Zelensky remarked, “In Ukraine, we also need victory, but only one. One significant victory that is very important for us.” He expressed that the backing from individuals like Crawford energizes the nation.
As an act of solidarity, Crawford gifted Zelensky a female American Pit Bull Terrier puppy, named Freya in honor of Ukraine’s anti-ballistic system. The puppy’s grandfather, named Athos, had survived the Russian occupation of Bucha, the guest shared.
Zelensky described the gift as warm and special.
