Joao Pedro Scores Record-Breaking Goal in Premier League Opener

Joao Pedro made history by scoring in just 31 seconds during the match between Fulham and Chelsea, marking the quickest goal ever recorded in the first round of a Premier League season.
In his first season with Chelsea (2025/26), the 24-year-old Brazilian striker tallied 23 goals across 53 appearances. Despite this impressive performance, he was not included in Brazil’s squad for the World Cup.
The manner in which Pedro kicked off the new season adds to the sting for Brazilian fans, who witnessed their national team exit the tournament early.
Joao Pedro Nets First Goal in Just 31 Seconds Against Fulham
Pedro’s record-setting goal came in the opening match of the season for Chelsea. Following a clearance from Fulham’s defense, defender Lacroix headed the ball to the edge of the opponent’s box. There, Cole Palmer redirected it for Pedro, who lobbed the ball expertly over goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
This fantastic start to the season for both Chelsea and Pedro is made even more poignant given that he was left off Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the World Cup, with Ancelotti opting for Neymar, who was unfit to play and missed Brazil’s first two matches in the tournament.
