Kanye West to Perform in St. Petersburg Amid European Concert Bans

Kanye West, also known as YE, is scheduled to perform in St. Petersburg this October, as announced via a post on the Telegram channel of Gazprom Arena, the venue for the event, reported Reuters.
This year, West has faced concert cancellations and bans in several European countries following a series of antisemitic remarks, including praise for Adolf Hitler and the use of Nazi symbolism.
In January, West apologized for his comments, attributing them to an undiagnosed brain injury and untreated bipolar disorder.
If the concert in St. Petersburg proceeds, West will become one of the most prominent international music stars to visit Russia since the start of Moscow’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Ticket prices for the two performances, scheduled for October 10 and 11, start at 9,000 rubles (approximately $106), with the cheapest tickets selling out in less than an hour, according to state news agency TASS.
The most expensive tickets are priced at 160,000 rubles (about $1,885).
Gazprom Arena, home to the Zenit St. Petersburg football club, has a capacity of around 70,000 spectators.
