Jose Mourinho, aged 63, has been officially presented as the head coach of Real Madrid, more than a month after he began his role at the club.

The presentation was an intimate affair attended by club president Florentino Perez and honorary president Jose Martinez Pirri. Perez welcomed Mourinho to the club’s headquarters, where he signed a contract that extends for three years, until July 30, 2029. During the event, Perez also presented Mourinho with a miniature replica of the new stadium, a watch, and a jersey bearing his name.
In the trophy room, Mourinho was asked about his message to the supporters. “It’s simple. I am one of you. And not just today, but since I first arrived here in 2010, and even after I left in 2013. I have always been with you. I have incredible memories of the affection you showed me at Wembley when we won the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund. I am truly one of you,” the Portuguese coach expressed.
Real Madrid is set to kick off the new season with a match against Espanyol in Barcelona, scheduled for Saturday evening at 22:30.
