Tottenham Loans Radu Drăgușin to Fiorentina with Purchase Clause

Tottenham Hotspur has officially loaned Radu Drăgușin to Fiorentina for the upcoming season, which includes a mandatory purchase clause.
According to Alasdair Gold, a Tottenham reporter from Football London, the obligation for Fiorentina to acquire the Romanian international will come into effect only if Drăgușin reaches a specific number of appearances in Serie A.
Future Transfer Terms for Drăgușin
Should Fiorentina meet the performance criteria, the total transfer fee will amount to €25 million, which is €3 million less than the transfer fee Tottenham paid in January 2024 to sign him from Genoa.
Additionally, Gold reports that Tottenham has secured 10% of any future transfer fee should Fiorentina decide to sell Drăgușin.
Strong Competition at Tottenham
Drăgușin still has four seasons left on his contract with Tottenham but sought a change this summer to gain more playing time. He faces stiff competition at the club from fellow center-backs Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Marcos Senesi, Luka Vuskovic, Paul van Hecke, and Kevin Danso.
Upon his arrival in the Premier League, Drăgușin found himself behind Romero and Van de Ven in the pecking order. His situation became complicated after suffering an ACL injury in January 2025, which sidelined him for nearly a year.
In response, Tottenham signed Austrian international Kevin Danso and, following a narrow escape from relegation to the Championship, strengthened their defense by bringing in Marcos Senesi and Paul van Hecke this summer.
As a result, coach Roberto De Zerbi has reportedly decided not to retain Vuskovic, who is set to be loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion after returning from a loan at Hamburger SV, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Currently, Drăgușin’s market value is estimated at €16 million, according to transfermarkt.de.
