The head of the Military Medical Commission (VLC), Iryna Kovalets, who controversially deemed a 200-kilogram disabled man fit for service, has made significant purchases during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Kovalets acquired a vehicle for 1 million UAH and a 3 million UAH apartment near Kyiv, as reported.
Her husband also contributed to their luxury spending by purchasing an electric car valued at 1.7 million UAH and receiving 2,000 UAH in winter support. This situation has sparked public outrage, especially following the tragic death of 46-year-old Andrii Stesiuk, who weighed 200 kg and had a disability, after he was deemed fit for service by Kovalets. Stesiuk died of cardiac arrest while at the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCK). The circumstances surrounding these decisions and purchases are raising concerns about the integrity of military assessments and accountability within the commission.
