General Popov, who was detained in the case of theft in Patriot Park, was one of the heroes of the paintings of the previously detained ex-Deputy Minister of Defense Bulgakov. Specifically, on photoshopped replicas of paintings for the 100th anniversary of the Soviet and Russian armies.
Of all the heroes of the golden collection, six were removed from office, three were arrested and three are on duty. Specifically from the photo on the left:

7. Deputy Minister of Defense Tatyana Shevtsova – removed from office;
8. Deputy Minister of Defense, Reserve Army General Nikolai Pankov – removed from office;
9. Head of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov – on duty;
10. Deputy Minister of Defense, Colonel General Alexander Fomin – on duty;
11. Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov – on duty.
Ex-Deputy Minister of Defense Pavel Popov was detained based on the testimony of the director of the Patriot park, Vyacheslav Akhmedov, and the deputy head of the Main Directorate for Inspectorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Vladimir Shesterov. Both said that they received money after the general’s orders. And they paid him about 3 million rubles – 10% of the contract amount. So that they don’t have questions from curators from the Ministry of Defense about inflated prices.
