Ioan Ovidiu Sabău addressed the situation regarding Denis Alibec ahead of Farul Constanța’s upcoming match against FC Argeș, noting that the striker is not yet ready for full intensity on the field.
The coach stated that Alibec is currently training at about 60-70% capacity, emphasizing the need for caution to prevent any further injuries. “Denis Alibec is training at around 60-70%. He won’t be available for this match. Unfortunately, we must be very careful to avoid any injuries,” Sabău explained.
Despite the setback, Sabău remains hopeful about Alibec’s return, viewing his ability to train, albeit not at full intensity, as a positive sign. “The good news is that he has started training; he may not be at maximum intensity yet, but I believe we can have him for 30 or 45 minutes in the Cup and hopefully fully fit for the next game,” he added.
Farul Seeks Reinforcements: “We Don’t Have a Proper Striker”
Sabău was also asked about the possibility of bringing in new players. “Right now, I would like players who can strengthen the squad and elevate our current level. We are trying; discussions are ongoing! We don’t have a proper striker,” he stated.
Alongside Alibec’s absence, Farul must also manage the physical fitness of its squad. Sabău believes the team has yet to reach the desired rhythm. “We are still missing the pace. Not everyone is off the mark, as many are where they need to be, but some players arrived late, and others have played so little last season that fatigue is setting in for some,” Sabău elaborated.
Sabău Praises Young Talent and Calls for Personality
Despite the squad’s challenges, Sabău sees several reasons for optimism. He highlighted players who have been impressive and can play significant roles moving forward. “We have quality players, valuable players. Many of them have extraordinary achievements. Both Doicaru and Radaslavescu have shown they can maintain this intensity and the necessary modesty when they step onto the field to surpass their own levels or consistently perform at their best,” Sabău remarked.
“Against FC Argeș, we need to play with personality, as we are not facing a team that is automatically favored. We are seen as a fourth-tier team, while they are a top team with exceptional players,” the coach concluded.
