Ukrainian law enforcement authorities have detained Colonel Vitaliy Kulish, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, as a part of an investigation into bribery. Reports indicate that Kulish accepted $10,000 to avoid taking mobilization actions against three individuals, including removing them from a search list in the “Oberih” system and facilitating their further reservation at their workplace.
Additionally, it has been documented that he had previously received another $5,000, which was intended to prevent the conscription of one soldier and facilitate his return for a re-examination by a military medical commission, as stated by prosecutor Ruslan Kravchenko.
Following the arrest, law enforcement is conducting searches at both the workplace and residence of Kulish, as well as undertaking other urgent investigative actions. The prosecution is preparing to file charges and plans to petition the court for the man’s detention and his suspension from office.
