FCSB Aims for Conference League Redemption Against FK Auda

After a 2-3 defeat in the first leg in Bucharest, FCSB must win in the return match against FK Auda to keep their hopes alive in the Conference League. Defender Joyskim Dawa is optimistic about the red-blue team’s chances of advancing.

The red-blues are eager to reach the group stage of a European competition once again, but they need to overcome Auda in the second round of the Conference League qualifiers, meaning they must secure a win in Latvia on Thursday.

Despite the defeat in the first leg, Marius Baciu’s players are confident about their prospects for qualification.

The return match between FK Auda and FCSB is scheduled for Thursday, July 30, at 19:00. The game will be available live on GSP.ro and on the Voyo platform.

Joyskim Dawa’s Strong Words Ahead of FK Auda – FCSB Match: “They’re Not at Our Level”

“Even though Auda won the first leg, I don’t believe they are at our level. We have a much better team. In the first match, it was simply luck. I don’t want to discuss the refereeing. The pitch was also poor, but I don’t want to make excuses. In football, there are bad referees and bad pitches, but we have the quality to play on any surface.

The key is to remain focused, calm, and patient. We need to score and avoid conceding goals. We’ve learned from the first match that we must stay alert until the end. We conceded a goal in the last minute, perhaps because we were too focused on scoring and forgot to defend.

I could have done more on their second goal. The goalkeeper could have too. The whole team could have performed better. But we need to forget the past and focus on what’s ahead,” Dawa stated, according to sport.ro.

“Everything is better now than it was last week. We’ll see on Thursday. The idea is that if we manage to eliminate our mistakes, we will qualify. If we make errors like in the first leg, anything can happen. I can’t believe we could make such mistakes again. I don’t even want to think about it. Who surprised us? No one surprised us. They’re weak, what are we talking about? Just a bunch of fools. We surprised ourselves with some very, very big mistakes, but I don’t believe that can happen again,” said Mihai Stoica, chairman of FCSB’s Board of Directors.
