Ukraine’s Men’s Volleyball Team Heads to China for Nations League Finals
The Ukrainian men’s volleyball team has received a warm send-off from Serbia as they travel to China for the final stage of the Nations League. With only days left before their historic debut, the team is set to compete for a semifinal spot in one of the world’s most prestigious volleyball tournaments. Under the guidance of coach Raúl Lozano, Ukraine secured its place in the finals by finishing seventh out of 18 teams, surpassing notable squads like France, Brazil, and Bulgaria.
Lozano expressed gratitude for the support from the Federation, the Ministry, and sponsor “Epicenter,” emphasizing the challenges the team has faced over the past four years of conflict in Ukraine. “We have done tremendous and difficult work with the players. Despite the ongoing missile and drone attacks, and daily power outages in Kyiv, excellent conditions were created for us to train,” he remarked.
The team is scheduled to play against the world’s top-ranked team, Poland, in the quarterfinals on July 30 at 14:30.
