Spain Poised for Massive Bonuses If They Win World Cup Final Against Argentina

Spain is set to face the reigning champions Argentina in the 2026 World Cup Final, scheduled for Sunday in New York at 22:00.
If Spain secures the world title, each of the 26 players in the squad will receive a staggering bonus of approximately €756,000 gross, setting a new record. By comparison, when Spain first won the trophy at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, players earned €600,000 gross each.
Players to Receive 45% of FIFA Prize Money
Prior to the tournament in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, key players negotiated bonuses with the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). They agreed that in the event of victory in New York, 45% of the FIFA prize money would be shared among the squad, amounting to $22.5 million, or just under €19.7 million.
Notably, FIFA is offering the new world champions a prize of $50 million, roughly €43.7 million.
Spain advanced to the semifinals after defeating France 2-0, and coach Luis de la Fuente has expressed his belief that his team deserves the ultimate title: “My players simply deserve it. They bring passion to the field, play with solidarity, and possess extraordinary talent. They have the necessary experience.”
Lamine Yamal’s Fitness in Question Ahead of Final Against Argentina
Currently, De La Fuente is concerned about Lamine Yamal. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Barcelona star has been training individually due to muscle discomfort, rather than with the rest of the squad.
The medical staff has decided to manage the situation of the 19-year-old carefully, with his absence from team training being precautionary. Yamal has only performed individual exercises to avoid the risk of aggravating his condition before the final against Argentina.
Spanish supporters were alarmed when the Barcelona winger was seen limping after the semifinal win over France. However, team doctors clarified that he was simply fatigued, having incurred a minor knock in a duel with Kylian Mbappé, and was protecting an area where he had previously suffered a muscle tear.
