The United States is set to introduce a new gold coin showcasing the portrait of former President Donald Trump. According to Mint Director David Bessent, the design aims to “embody the strength of American values and the nation’s commitment to preserving freedom for all.”
The obverse of the coin will prominently display Trump’s portrait along with the inscriptions “Liberty 1776–2026” and “In God We Trust,” a phrase that has been featured on U.S. currency since 1956.
On the reverse side, the coin will depict a large version of the Great Seal of the United States, accompanied by the words “United States of America” and the denomination of “One Dollar.”
