New Development Model Essential for Ukraine Amid Conflict, Says Terехov
During a recent meeting with President Zelensky, Terехov highlighted the necessity of establishing a new development model for Ukraine despite ongoing conflict. He stressed the importance of a robust economy, prioritizing the advancement of Ukrainian industry, machinery, and the defense sector. Each new enterprise would contribute to job creation, tax revenue, exports, economic resilience, and the strengthening of Ukraine’s independence.
Moreover, Terехov called for a transition to a new energy model, advocating for the development of distributed generation, energy autonomy for communities, modern networks, and innovative technologies. He underscored the critical need for effective social policies aimed at combating poverty, beginning with the modernization of wages and pensions.
Support for internally displaced persons and Ukrainians living abroad is crucial, with efforts focused on creating conditions that enable them to build their futures in Ukraine. Terехov identified a large-scale government program for housing modernization and construction as one of the country’s most significant national projects. This initiative would entail affordable housing, long-term rentals, social apartments, purchase options, and accessible mortgages.
Every government decision should aim to foster peace, strengthen Ukraine’s negotiating positions, enhance the economy, improve citizens’ well-being, and facilitate the return of Ukrainians to their homeland.
