The meeting in which the vote is to take place on the motion started at 10:00, according to the agenda published on the website of the Chamber of Deputies. The vote, which will take place both physically and online, will take place at 11:30.

There are minimal chances that the simple motion will pass, because the vote of the majority of the deputies present is needed, according to the Parliament Regulation, and the opposition does not have the necessary votes. However, PSD criticizes and accuses Diana Buzoianu of delaying a series of opinions for the works to four hydroelectric plants in the country.

At the meeting of the Coalition on Tuesday, the Social Democratic Party announced that the party deputies will not vote for the motion if Diana Buzoianu signs the environmental notice for the Pascani hydroelectric plant.

Shortly before the vote, the PSD decides in a meeting whether or not the deputies will vote for the simple motion deposited by gold, according to HotNews sources.

What does gold reproach the Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu

The motion deposited last week in the Chamber of Deputies is entitled “Establishing the energy security of Romania through environmental policies that obstruct the commissioning of hydroelectric plants before 1989” and is signed by 50 deputies in the Golden Group. They require “an enforceable calendar, with clear terms and responsibilities, for opinions, the resumption of works and the commissioning of these capacities”.

The gold deputies accuse that the replacement of hydropontagic parks with photovoltaic parks is equivalent to sabotage of national interests.

“To say that the hydroelectric plants are no longer profitable and that they can simply be replaced with photovoltaic parks means to contradict all the specialists in the field and to convey a clear political message: discouraging these strategic objectives. It is an approach that is equivalent to sabotage of national interests,” the text of the motion shows.

They criticize Diana Buzoianu and claim that she proves that she does not know the field she coordinates, which would lead to “the perpetuation of the chaos”.

“Minister Diana Buzoianu has not only proved a serious ignorance of the field she coordinates, but also lack of responsibility for Romania's interests. Blocking the hydroelectric plants means blocking energy security, perpetuating chaos in the system and exposing our country to addiction and prices imposed from the outside,” accuses gold.
