Jude Bellingham Shines as England Defeats Mexico 3-2 in Azteca

Jude Bellingham emerged as the standout player for England during their thrilling 3-2 victory against Mexico, held at the iconic Azteca Stadium.
The Real Madrid midfielder not only netted two crucial goals but also made a vital goal-line clearance that preserved England’s lead while they played with ten men.
Post-match, Bellingham praised his teammates, noting that in the past, the team might have faltered under such pressure, whereas they demonstrated resilience this time.
Bellingham on the Team’s Resilience Against Mexico
“It’s tough to put everything into words right now. Defending in our box with ten men, as we did, and being so clinical in attack is incredible. In previous years, when I watched as a fan, under such pressure, England would likely have given in,” Bellingham said.
“However, we stayed united until the final whistle. Both starters and substitutes gave their all until the end. That’s exactly what this team is about,” he added, according to reports.
The midfielder expressed his deep admiration for the fans and addressed the refereeing decisions during the match.
“The atmosphere was the best I’ve ever experienced at an international level. Mexico is a magnificent country for football. Regarding the referees, what’s done is done. It’s a World Cup, and they are human too,” he stated.
He highlighted that his first-half intervention at 2-1 was as crucial as the goals he scored, dedicating the victory to the country and fans who spent their hard-earned money to travel to Mexico.
Bellingham also shifted focus to the upcoming quarter-final against Norway, stating, “We take it match by match. The Norwegians pose a different threat and have world-class players that we know well, so we must be fully prepared.”
“But if you can’t enjoy a night like this, even for a few hours, then what’s the point of all this?” he concluded.
