PHU Lechmar calls for responsible reporting on security and defense issues
According to reports, a representative of PHU Lechmar filed an official inquiry with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NAKU) in response to public claims regarding a supposed investigation into the company’s activities.
In a response dated June 26, referenced by NaTemat, NAKU stated that there are no records in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations concerning PHU Lechmar that would suggest the application of criminal legal measures. This indicates that there is currently no investigation being conducted against the company.
PHU Lechmar spokesperson Karolina Siudila remarked, “We consider transparency fundamental to our operations, which is why we opted to contact NAKU for an official position as soon as we learned about the unverified claims circulating online. The bureau’s response leaves no doubt: no proceedings are being conducted against our company. We consistently fulfill our obligations to our Ukrainian partners and will continue to respond to false information based on facts and documents.”
The company further asserted that all contracts have been executed according to agreements. PHU Lechmar emphasized its cooperation with Ukrainian governmental bodies and its openness to inspections, including from independent anti-corruption institutions.
Moreover, the company called for responsible reporting on issues related to security and defense and stated that it reserves the right to respond to the dissemination of information it deems inaccurate.
Context
- On June 16, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that commitments related to contracts for ammunition purchases worth 23 billion UAH with Polish supplier PHU Lechmar have been fulfilled. The munitions were delivered in full and provided to the Armed Forces of Ukraine at one of the lowest prices, according to agency spokesperson Andriy Demchenko, as cited by Interfax-Ukraine.
