Real Madrid Initiates Talks for Alessandro Bastoni Transfer

Real Madrid is reportedly in discussions to sign defender Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan, following the potential departure of several players, including Stefan De Vrij, Francesco Acerbi, and Matteo Darmian. Bastoni, who has attracted interest from Barcelona, is now a target for manager José Mourinho as the club seeks to bolster its defense.
According to reports from AS, despite Real Madrid’s recent acquisitions of players such as Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries, and Bernardo Silva, the club remains eager to secure another defender. Bastoni has emerged as a priority target, especially after Nico Schlotterbeck’s injury during the 2026 World Cup.
Report: Bastoni Transfer to Real Madrid Likely at €60 Million
The same report indicates that Real Madrid must first offload players for financial and squad-size reasons before making a formal offer to Inter Milan. The situation is understood by Bastoni, who is aware of Madrid’s interest but must wait for an official approach.
Inter Milan is reportedly aware of Real Madrid’s growing interest in Bastoni and the player’s desire for a transfer. This follows earlier discussions Bastoni had with Barcelona, which did not lead to a deal. AS.com notes that Inter has been open to allowing Bastoni to negotiate his future.
“Bastoni will definitely stay at Inter; he has a contract until 2028. In football, anything can happen, but he is desirable for all the major clubs. He feels very happy where he is, Inter is his home, but in life, you never know…” said Tullio Tinti, Bastoni’s agent.
