Florin Manea, the manager of Radu Drăgușin (23 years old), revealed that he plans to discuss with the management of Tottenham the possibility of the Romanian defender leaving on loan in the return of this season, and the preferred destination would be to a Serie A team.
Radu Drăgușin returned to the field on December 28 in the victory against Crystal Palace from the “Boxing Day” stage, score 1-0, being introduced on the field in the 85th minute. The Romanian international was absent from the field for 332 days, after on January 30, 2025, during the match against Elfsborg in the Europa League (3-0) he suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
However, Drăgușin's manager believes that the Romanian will not get many minutes in the return season at Tottenham and is of the opinion that a loan of the player would be the best solution both for him and for the club.
Florin Manea spoke about the future of Radu Drăgușin at Tottenham: “Maybe there is a possibility of a loan”
“I knew he was on the bench with Liverpool, I knew he was on the bench now, I watched until the 80th minute and thought he wasn't going to put it in. He had emotions, he played after 11 months in front of the fans, he was all smiles.
Any coach under pressure is afraid to throw a player like that outright. It's a more difficult situation, we were thinking that if he doesn't play 8-9-10 matches by June, we'd lose another 6 months, so a total of 17.
We see, maybe there is a possibility to go somewhere on loan. Radu and I talked about this, the Tottenham people didn't tell us anything. I'm going to talk to them, after all it's for their own good. That way they would get back into rhythm, a win-win situation. We will see what their vision is.
At the moment it is speculation. I think our idea of going out on loan has woken up a lot of teams in Italy.
I can't say that we have anything concrete, but I think that if Radu wanted to return to Italy, he would immediately find a place in the top teams. He grew up there, he knows the language, he speaks the language, he already knows the championship, he is adapted.
I don't know if the management would refuse us, it wouldn't make sense. It's good for them and for the player, for everyone. I don't see why they would refuse. For now I don't think they can ask for him more than they gave if they want to sell him. In any case, it will not be under 20 million euros under any circumstances”, said Florin Manea, at Prima Sport.
