Cyber Police Uncovers $1 Million Fake Aid Scheme via Social Media

The cyber police in Ukraine have exposed a fraudulent scheme that involved providing fake aid amounting to 1 million hryvnias. The scammers operated primarily through social media platforms, particularly TikTok, impersonating representatives of various organizations, including the Olena Zelenska Foundation, UNITED24, the “Come Back Alive” fund, the Ukrainian Red Cross, and UNICEF.

These individuals deceived citizens by soliciting personal banking information and requesting “test payments.” Among the victims of this scam are members of the armed forces of Ukraine (ZSU). Authorities are currently conducting a pre-trial investigation into the matter.
