Two Kyiv Residents Arrested for Planning Attack on Administrative Building

Ukrainian security services have thwarted a terrorist plot involving two residents of Kyiv who intended to detonate an explosive device near an administrative building. According to reports from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police, the suspects, who were allegedly recruited by the FSB, had planted a homemade incendiary device meant to cause a fire and explosion at a generator facility adjacent to the administrative complex.
The duo planned to activate the device remotely while traveling toward Belarus, from where they intended to escape to Russia. However, authorities were able to intercept and arrest them aboard a train before they could execute their plan.
One of the suspects was a mobilized individual who had deserted his military unit, while the other was a marketer. Both came under the scrutiny of Russian intelligence services after they made pro-Kremlin comments on Telegram channels. If convicted, they face life imprisonment along with asset confiscation.
