Barcelona and Liverpool Target Tottenham Defender Micky van de Ven

Barcelona is pursuing the transfer of Dutch international Micky van de Ven (25), a central defender for Tottenham and a competitor for Radu Drăgușin (24).

Additionally, Liverpool is interested in acquiring the defender to replace Ibrahima Konate, who has left on a free transfer and has already been presented as a new signing at Real Madrid.

Barcelona and Liverpool Eye Micky van de Ven, Tottenham Sets Price at €115 Million

According to Dutch publication De Telegraaf, Tottenham has set a hefty price tag of €115 million for the 25-year-old defender.

Reports from sportal.bg indicate that the English side is keen to block this transfer, likely preferring to sell their other starting central defender, Cristian Romero.

Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that manager Roberto De Zerbi insists that Van de Ven remains, and Tottenham will not facilitate a transfer to either Liverpool or Barcelona.

For the Dutch national team, Ronald Koeman has primarily utilized Van de Ven as a left-back. This was the case during the Netherlands’ first match at the 2026 World Cup, where he started in that role in a 2-2 draw against Japan.

Van de Ven joined Tottenham in 2023 from Wolfsburg for €40 million. He had a strong season, making 45 appearances, scoring 7 goals, and providing 1 assist. His market value is currently estimated at €50 million according to transfermarkt.com.
