The games behind the scenes of PNL. Accusations after “a consultation with the mayors” that came out “pro-Vestea”

The president of PNL Argeș, Alina Gorghiu, announced that she supports Adriaan Veștea, following a consultation with the mayors of the county. However, the liberal is accused by her party colleagues of not having done a real consultation, liberal sources tell HotNews.
- PNL has 28 of the 102 town halls in Argeș county. The County Political Bureau includes all the local leaders from these UATs, not just the mayors – that is, those who were consulted.
- The consultation in Argeș consisted of a question that Alina Gorghiu sent on the WhatsApp group of PNL mayors, HotNews sources say
“Today, I received, together with my colleague, Senator Mihai Coteț, the mandate of the mayors of Argeș to support the designated prime minister, Adrian Veștea”. This is how Alina Gorghiu's message on her Facebook page begins. It is his first official reaction after the appointment of Adrian Veștea as prime minister.
“Regardless of the outcome, there is one goal that I consider the most important for any PNL president: not to break the party. The conflict does not solve the political crisis, it deepens it. If the parties emerge from this situation weaker, the institutions more challenged, and the citizens more disappointed, nobody will gain,” wrote the president of the Argeș PNL branch.
Gorghiu, who was absent from the meeting in which the party voted against Tomac's support, demands dialogue between Ilie Bolojan and Adrian Veștea. The liberal, considered close to the anti-Bolojan camp, says that the government deadlock cannot continue and that “a majority must be identified”.
Allegations that it wasn't exactly consultation
After Gorghiu's announcement, liberal sources in Argeș said that in fact it was not exactly a consultation. Alina Gorghiu sent a question on the WhatsApp group of the county mayors.
Liberal sources also accuse her of avoiding a broad debate in order to have control over the vote, so as to guarantee support for Adrian Veștea.
Mihai Coteț, PNL senator from Argeş, also accused, in a statement given to Cotidianul, that “it was a question asked on WhatsApp” and “in no way a political vote in the BPJ (County Political Bureau) or in the CDJ – (College of County Directors)”.
In Iasi, the decision was made in the County Political Bureau. It was a pro-Bolojan vote
And the PNL Iasi branch announced a decision: it was a decision to support Bolojan. In this county, however, the decision was taken after a unanimous vote in the County Political Bureau, as the branch informs in a press release.
“The PNL Iași leadership voted for the decision not to support the untimely, intrusive and irresponsible appointment made by the President of Romania, in the position of designated prime minister, being an obvious attack directed against the National Liberal Party,” said the president of the branch, Iași MP Alexandru Muraru.
The leaders from the territory will present their positions during the meeting of the National Bureau convened for the evening of Monday.
