In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a man stole food and received three years in prison

In Divnogorsk, a court sentenced a man who entered the apartment of a former neighbor, ate food and handed over a stolen phone to a thrift store. This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
A resident of Divnogorsk contacted the police. She said that an unknown person entered her apartment through a window and stole food and a cell phone. The damage amounted to 2,700 rubles. The police have identified a suspect. It turned out to be a former neighbor of the victim, previously convicted of property crimes.
According to investigators, the man was drinking with a friend. When the alcohol ran out, he decided to go to a friend who had recently moved to a new apartment. She was not at home, but the window in the kitchen was open. The man got inside and took butter, eggs, meat, apples and lemon from the refrigerator. He also took a cell phone from the room.
After that, he left the apartment the same way. The man ate the food and handed over the phone to a thrift store. During the investigation, the police returned the gadget to the owner.
The Divnogorsk City Court found the man guilty of theft and sentenced him to 3 years in prison in a maximum security penal colony.
