Volodymyr Zelensky reveals report on Russia. The Kremlin expects support to decline

According to Zelensky, the document obtained by Ukrainian intelligence contains an assessment of the political situation in Russia and forecasts an increase in citizens' dissatisfaction towards Putin. The President of Ukraine emphasized that even the information that reaches the Russian leader allows us to draw important conclusions about the public mood in the country.
“He is already prepared to accept the idea that this growing dissatisfaction cannot be stopped,” Zelensky wrote, recalling that parliamentary elections will be held in Russia in September.
Russia before the elections: falling support and growing protest moods
The document obtained by Ukrainian intelligence indicates that support for the ruling party in Russia is systematically decreasing. Zelensky noted that in this situation, the authorities may be forced to falsify the election results much more in order to maintain their current political position.
The President of Ukraine pointed out that Russian reports note a clear increase in protest moods in society. In his opinion, the pressure on Russia related to the ongoing war will continue and intensify, and by September Vladimir Putin may face even worse approval ratings.
No response to peace proposals
Zelensky emphasized that all public and non-public peace proposals submitted by Ukraine were met only with declarations of continuation of the war by Russia. According to him, the internal situation in Russia should make Putin reflect and start peace talks.
The President of Ukraine noted that Ukraine is ready for peace negotiations on fair terms. In his opinion, if current trends continue, a future peace agreement may be necessary with another representative of Russia – someone who will not distance himself from reality.
