The Presidential Administration has not officially announced the topic the president will speak about. However, Nicușor Dan makes the press statement while Prime Minister-designate Eugen Tomac is still trying to collect the necessary votes to be sworn in – 233.
A day ago, Eugen Tomac presented the Governance program, which his team stated has not yet been sent to the Parliament.
Eugen Tomac declared, on Friday, that he relies on 200 votes so far for his Government to pass the Parliament, but he did not specify where they come from.
Nicușor Dan made the last press statement on Wednesday, June 10, when he launched “a call for the parties' responsibility towards this moment”.
What chances does the Tomac Government have to pass Parliament
The Tomac government needs 233 votes to invest, and the votes of the PSD, which has the most MPs (128), are crucial.
PNL (76), USR (59) and AUR (90) have already announced that they will not support it. In other words, Eugen Tomac has already lost 225 votes out of 465.
If he has PSD's support, Tomac still needs 105 more votes, which can come from:
- UDMR: 31
- National minorities: 17
- SOS Romania: 15
- United for Romania: 14
- PEACE: 11
- Unaffiliated / independent parliamentarians: 24
