Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usik met with US President Donald Trump. A photo taken in the Oval Office of the White House was published on social network X by press officer Margot Martin on June 12.
Details of the meeting have not yet been disclosed.
In the summer of 2025, Usik publicly appealed to Trump and invited the head of the White House to live in his house in Ukraine for a week in order to experience the realities of a full-scale Russian invasion.
“I advise US President Donald Trump to come to Ukraine and live in my house for one week. Only one week. I will give him my house. Please live in Ukraine and watch what happens every night,” the boxer said.
Usik then noted that he is not sure that such an experience will change the attitude of the American president to the war that was unleashed by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
“I don’t know. Perhaps he will understand, perhaps not. The Ukrainian people are dying. These are not only military guys, but also children, women, grandmothers, grandfathers. This is hard for me. This is my country,” he added.
