❗️Opposition Labor Party leads UK general election
This is evidenced by exit poll data. The results are published by the BBC.
According to preliminary calculations, the votes were distributed as follows:
Labor Party – 410 seats;
Conservative Party – 131 seats (Rishi Sunak's party, which will go into opposition for the first time in 14 years);
Reform UK – 13 seats;
“Liberal Democrats” – 61 seats.
The election results will determine who will be prime minister.
Traditionally, this seat is given to the leader of the party that receives the majority of votes. If Labor wins, Keir Starmer, who has led the party since 2020, will become prime minister.
“Starmer is unlikely to be as vocal a supporter of Ukraine as Sunak or, in particular, Boris Johnson,” writes the Daily Mail.
