Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella (27) has promised to tattoo the face of coach Luis de la Fuente if Spain win the World Cup.
Provoked by the reporter during the interview given for Marca, the international with 24 selections and one scored goal warned that don't put your hair on the line if Furia Roja also becomes world champion two years after winning the EURO.
Marc Cucurella: “The World Cup is coming, but this year I'm not painting”. Fans: “You're not going home without your curls!”
The Chelsea defender was quick to clear up the debate surrounding his curls and the suspicion that he would cut his hair if he wins the title on July 19. “I assure you that no one touches my hair!”.

At the beginning of the week, Spanish fans begged him not to change the hairstyle that made him famous: “Don't come home without your curls!”.
The fears started from a video posted on his Instagram account. “The World Cup is coming, but this year I'm not dyeing,” announced Cucurella, being caught with a clipper in hand. The Iberian dyed red after becoming European champion at EURO 2024.
If Lamine Yamal publicly announced that he will grow his beard and mustache if Spain is the best in the tournament in the USA, Mexico and Canada, Marc solemnly promised: “If we win the World Cup, I'll get a tattoo of Luis de la Fuente's face!”.
“I also put my wife's pajama top, which I wore to the Euros, in my luggage. Let's see if it will be the same talisman”
Marc Cucurella may have to start looking for a tattoo artist already, given that in most computer simulations, Furia Roja is among the big favorites to lift the trophy in the final program at MetLife in New York.

The Spanish defender also left the house when the reporter of the daily newspaper in Madrid expressed his curiosity about what special things he put in his luggage: “I brought several things. I have some key chains that my children made me.
I also take my wife's pajama top, which I wore at the European Championship. I put it back in the suitcase to see if it would be the same charm. Besides, I don't miss my iPad and a few things to occupy my free time.”
I am very excited. It is very difficult to play in the World Cup. All my teammates who have played have told me that there is nothing greater than being in this tournament, and now I have the opportunity. I am very happy and, above all, anxious to get started. It was difficult to adjust, but I have been sleeping very well for several days. We try not to rest too much at lunch so as not to go to bed late. But I sleep all night

“It would be great to be able to go back to that impressive stadium. What we're experiencing now is nothing compared to what's to come.”
Cucurella hopes to relive the emotions of a year ago, when, also in the United States, he won the Club World Cup with Chelsea, 3-0 in the final with PSG: “For me, it's like I'm back. I was here in 2025 and experienced the heat, the travel and everything that comes with competing in this country.
In this sense, I can say that I got used to it. It would be great to be able to go back to that stadium… I remember it was an impressive stadium. I told my colleagues that what we are experiencing now is nothing compared to what is to come.

I don't know if it's because this city isn't one of the hottest, but I remember it being incredibly hot. Also, in some stadiums, you feel that the air circulation is less and the discomfort index increases.
It's hard, but we'll get used to it little by little. We are lucky that we will play the first two games in indoor stadiums, and that will help us as well.”
I use social media more than I would like. We have a lot of free time and you end up going on TikTok and watching videos. Not excessively, though. I consider myself pretty normal in that regard. If I have something better to do, I do it, but it's inevitable because we don't have many alternatives here
