The official announcement of the transfer comes just one day after the club from Covasna presented Bogdan Vătăjelu (33 years old).

Newly promoted Sepsi OSK has formalized the transfer of goalkeeper David Lazar on Friday, June 12.
“The Sepsi OSK team has strengthened with a new goalkeeper: our club has reached an agreement with David Lazar, who will continue his career at Sfântu Gheorghe in the next two seasons.
Aged 34, the goalkeeper last played for FC Hermannstadt, and throughout his career he also wore the shirt of FC Argeș, Universitatea Craiova, FC Buzău, Astra Giurgiu, Vejle BK, Pandurii Târgu Jiu and FC Botoșani.

Arriving at Hermannstadt at the beginning of this year, it was he who requested to leave the club with whom he was relegated to League 2.
He had arrived at Hermannstadt following a player exchange
David Lazar arrived at Hermannstadt in February 2026, in a surprising move with FC Argeș. In exchange, the Sibiu players transferred the goalkeeper Cătălin Căbuz to the Pitesti team.
He was seen as an important solution for the end of the season, but he was unable to avoid the team's relegation.
In the approximately four months spent in Sibiu, David Lazar defended in 17 official matches. During this period, the goalkeeper scored 21 goals and was the starter including in the play-off double with FC Voluntari.
The relegation at the end of this season is the fourth in David Lazar's career: Pandurii 2016/2017, Astra 2020/2021, Buzău 2024/2025, Hermannstadt 2025/2026.

The goalkeeper also wore the shirts of Voința Sibiu, Pandurii Târgu Jiu, FC Botoșani, Vejle, Astra Giurgiu, Universitatea Craiova, Gloria Buzău and FC Argeș.
