Facebook crashed in Romania and several countries, problems with Messenger and Instagram

Facebook is currently experiencing a widespread outage, with thousands of users in numerous countries reporting problems accessing the platform.

According to outage monitoring site IsDown, more than 5,700 user reports have been filed in the past 24 hours, and the site confirms that it is detecting active issues with the Facebook service as of this afternoon.

The problems appear to be affecting users in several countries, with the United States and the Philippines among the locations generating the highest volume of reports, Unilad reports.

Facebook, Instagram and Threads issues reported Friday afternoon

Problems have also been reported by users in Romania, although it is not yet clear how serious the service outage is. This also affects the Facebook social network and its Messenger messaging service.

It is not yet clear what is causing the disruption or when normal service is expected to resume. Facebook's parent company, Meta, had yet to issue a public statement on the outage at the time of publication.

But it seems the problem is Meta's own, with other users reporting problems on Instagram and Threads, the “X”-like social network.
